I Went to Volendam

New experience but very expensive
Saturday morning, 28th of May 2011. I rode my bicycle with my friends to Maastricht train station. Unang, the chief of Indonesian Students Association in Maastricht) contacted Wardah and invited us to join in one day excursion to Volendam.
Actually, the first goal going to Volendam was taking a picture with Dutch traditional clothes. I don’t know why it must be in Volendam, but many people say that I must visit Volendam when I am in the Netherlands.
There were 14 people joined in this excursion. From Maastricht train station, we stopped in Utrecht train station and changed the train to Amsterdam Centraal station. After more than 3 hours sat in the train, we arrived in Amsterdam. After that, we were given information by someone that we must take a bus to go to Volendam.
Finally, we arrived in Volendam. Many people came to Volendam at that time. I saw a lot of Indonesian faces as well. They come from Jakarta. I tried to ask them. One of them said that they come to the Netherlands for only 9 days.
We didn’t forget our first goal. We must take a picture with Dutch traditional clothes. There are several photo studios in Volendam but we must choose one. Unang took his role to choose the photo studio.

Then we come to locker room to change the clothes. Some staffs helped us to do that. After 15 minutes, we were ready to pose in front of camera. You can see the picture above. It was interesting.
However, for me and some of my friends also said that the price is relatively expensive. From our experience, about € 112.50 was spent to get 14 pieces of photo and 1 CD. Do you want to come and take a picture in Volendam?
